GDOC, CAMPUS, and EMAIL Usernames Your username is usually the same in each system, except for people with multi-word last names. Passwords are different in each system. Usernames are based on legal first and last names, as they appear on student IDs and employee paychecks. GDOC: If your first or last name has spaces in it, replace each space with a dot. Include hyphens. For people who share the same first and last name, your username may include your middle initial. Examples: john.doe john.c.doe john.e.doe jane.van.der.smith jane.smith-doe betty.jane.doe CAMPUS/EMAIL: If your first or last name has spaces in it, don't include the spaces. Include hyphens. For people who share the same first and last name, your username may include your middle initial. Examples: john.doe john.c.doe john.e.doe jane.vandersmith jane.smith-doe bettyjane.doe
Username Problems and Changes STUDENTS: If the name on your student ID has spelling or other errors, please see the Registrar, Chapel Hall 101 or send email to registrar.office@gallaudet.edu
. Bring your driver's license, passport, or social security card for proof of legal name spelling. FACULTY/TEACHERS/STAFF: If the name on your paycheck has spelling or other errors, please see the Personnel Office, College Hall 106 or send email to maito:julie.reese@gallaudet.edu. ALL: If you wish to change the way your name appears in Peoplesoft, you must legally change your name with the US Government. The US Social Security Office handles name changes. If you are still having difficulty in setting up your password, please contact the Technology Help Desk.
